Since 1998 DiNuovo® has been our flagship brand, a melting pot of Italian experience, tailoring and love for our planet.

The Circular Economy is by definition an economic model based on activities that can regenerate themselves, to the detriment of standardization and waste and in clear opposition to the principles of a ‘Linear Economy’.

This is why we have invested energetically in research and development with the aim of creating cutting-edge, extremely refined and truly sustainable textile collections, traceable throughout the production chain. Sustainability and fashion can coexist in a new and more conscious vision of the future.

What is DiNuovo?

The collections belonging to the DiNuovo® brand are fabrics obtained from 100% reclaimed yarns.

In particular, the DiNuovo® collection does not include the use of additional dyes on the components or the use of chemical or non-natural products in the finishing phase, which is why it complies with the most stringent ecological requirements.

In addition, all the yarns used for the DiNuovo® line are GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified, which guarantees traceability and control of the entire production chain.

The reclaimed yarns used to make the DiNuovo® Collections are pre-dyed, that is yarns obtained and/or derived from scraps of fabrics, such as used clothes.

Secondly, after a careful selection, the recycled raw materials are fed back into the textile supply chain through the fraying and spinning operation.

These yarns are therefore already coloured, and the final nuances are therefore obtained by mixing all the available colours resulting from this supply chain in the correct percentages.

The derived yarn is now ready for the crucial weaving phase.

Modus Operandi

DiNuovo® is a daring and strongly desired project, precisely because we care about the future of our planet.

From an environmental point of view, the manufacturing process of DiNuovo® yarns has numerous and significant advantages:

  • No chemicals or dyeing products are used and therefore nothing is dispersed into the environment;
  • There is a significant saving of water used in the purging and dyeing processes;
  • Tangible energy saving, as some passages that have a large expenditure of electricity such as fulling or dyeing are eliminated;
  • Circular reuse of raw materials, especially noble fibres such as cotton that would otherwise be thrown into landfill;
  • Savings on the intensive use of land and cotton crops, since the same fibre is used several times, preserving the land from pesticides and fertilizers.

Certifications

In order to strictly adapt to the best quality and eco-sustainability standards, all the yarns use to create our DiNuovo® collections comply with the prestigious Global Recycled Standard certification, valid and recognized internationally.

The Global Recycled Standard establishes the requirements for the certification of recycled content, the production chain, third-party social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions, as essential steps to be truly eco-sustainable.

GRS’s goal is to increase the use of recycled materials in products and reduce/eliminate the damage caused by uncontrolled production chains.

The main objectives of GRS are:

  • Reduce the harmful impact of production on people and the environment.
  • Ensure that the materials in the final product are actually recycled and processed in a more sustainable way.
  • Promote innovation in addressing quality issues in the use of recycled materials.
